« Blossom within your home’s ambiance »

I’ve discovered that there’s something called the psychology of living spaces. It explores how our environment affects our mindset, and how we can improve our inner balance by learning to evoke certain emotions through our surroundings.

Colors, materials (with their unique textures), lighting, and how you arrange things all influence your mood and behavior. That’s why it’s important to design each space based on how you want to feel and what you want to convey. Maybe it’s calm and relaxation in the bedroom, or joy and connection in the living room.

A few color examples and their emotional impact:

  • Red: energizing and stimulating

  • Green: promotes relaxation and balance
  • Blue: soothing, brings serenity
  • Yellow: sparks optimism and creativity

Touch is also key to shaping how a space feels:
Soft textures like cotton, velvet, or wool offer a sense of comfort and security. In contrast, harder materials like glass, stone, and metal can evoke elegance, coolness, or even a sense of distance.

Shapes and lines play their part too:

  • Horizontal lines make spaces feel wider and more grounded.
  • Vertical lines create a feeling of openness and airiness.
  • Diagonal lines add movement, energy, and dynamism.
  • Circles bring softness, unity, and harmony.
  • Rectangles give off a sense of calm, safety, and order.
  • Triangles and pyramids are energizing and symbolize stability.
  • Parallelograms convey flow, rhythm, and harmony.

Lighting — whether natural or artificial, soft or strong — enhances the emotion and vibe of a room. It’s essential in shaping how a space is perceived.

Just like with fashion, some people choose a minimalist base for their home decor: neutral colors, simple furniture with clean lines. This gives them flexibility to evolve with time by adding or changing decorative elements as their life, taste, and personality evolve. It’s all about finding balance through these elements.

Once again, the most important thing is to start with what you love — what you want to feel and have others feel in each room of your home. From there, anything is possible.

And if I can help you find a decorative element that brings you calm, joy, or renewed energy, it would be a pleasure to create something special just for you.

« What I share here is the result of my own journey. I explore life through books, podcasts, conversations, documentaries… and most of all, through experience. I’m not an expert in anything, but I love to test, observe, adjust, and hold on to what works for me. If my discoveries resonate with you or inspire you to try something new, I’ll be happy. »
